Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Standards--Agreement: A unanimous-consent
agreement was reached providing that at approximately 10:00 a.m., on
Wednesday, June 21, 2023, notwithstanding rule XXII, Senate begin
consideration of the veto message to accompany S.J. Res. 11, providing
for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States
Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency
relating to “Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles: Heavy-
Duty Engine and Vehicle Standards”; that Senate vote on passage of the
joint resolution, the objection of the President to the contrary
notwithstanding, at 11:30 a.m.; that following disposition of the veto
message, Senate resume consideration of the nomination of Natasha C.
Merle, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern
District of New York; and that if cloture is invoked on the nomination,
all time be considered expired and Senate vote on confirmation of the
nomination at 2:15 p.m.
