10:05 a.m. - Majority Leader Schumer spoke about the mass shooting in Lewison Maine, House Republicans, the Senate minibus, the President’s domestic supplemental funding plan, the nomination of Jack Lew to be Ambassador to Israel, and the UAW strike.
10:19 a.m. - Republican Leader McConnell spoke about the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, Speaker Johnson, and the war in Israel.
10:28 a.m. - Senator Grassley spoke about government spending and social security.
10:42 a.m. - Senator Hawley asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to adopt S. Res. 418 by voice vote. There was no objection. He then spoke about the war in Israel and anti-antisemitism on college campuses.
10:56 a.m. - Senator Paul spoke about S.J.Res.44, a joint resolution directing the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities in the Republic of Niger that have not been authorized by Congress, and made a motion to discharge the resolution from the Foreign Relations Committee.
11:18 a.m. - Senators Risch and Cardin spoke against the motion to discharge S.J. Res. 44 from the Foreign Relations Committee.
11:23 a.m. - Senator Paul spoke further on the motion to discharge S.J. Res. 44.
11:28 a.m. - The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J. Res. 44 from the Foreign Relations Committee.
12:26 p.m. - By a vote of 11-86, the Senate did not agree to the motion to discharge S.J. Res 44 from the Foreign Relations Committee, Paul Niger War Powers Resolution. Senators voting in favor: Braun, Kaine, Kennedy, Lee, Markey, Marshall, Merkley, Paul, Sanders, Vance, and Welch. Senators King, Padilla, and Scott (SC).
12:26 p.m. - Senator Braun spoke on his amendment on earmarks to the appropriation’s minibus.
12:27 p.m. - Senator Murray spoke on the shooting in Maine and on the Braun amendment.
12:30 p.m. - Senator Collins spoke on the Braun amendment.
12:36 p.m. - Senator Braun spoke further on his amendment.
12:36 p.m. - The Senate began a roll call vote on the Braun amendment #1182 to H.R. 4366, the appropriation’s minibus.
1:17 p.m. - By a vote of 35-62 the Braun amendment #1182 was not agreed to. Dems voting aye: Senator Tester. Republicans voting no: Senators Boozman, Britt, Capito, Collins, Graham, Hyde-Smith, McConnell, Moran, Mullin, Murkowski, Rounds, Sullivan, Tillis and Wicker. Not voting: Senators King, Padilla and Scott (SC).

2:31 p.m. - By a vote of 47-50, the Senate did not pass S.J.Res.42, Marshall USDA School Lunches CRA. Senators Collins and Murkowski voted No. Senator Manchin voted YEA. Senators King, Padilla and Scott (SC) did not vote.
